2025: It’s Time to Fight!

NEHEMIAH 4:14 (NKJV) – And I looked, and arose and said to the nobles, to the leaders, and to the rest of the people, “Do not be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, great and awesome, and fight for your brethren, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your houses.”

Can I go to restaurants during a Daniel Fast?

Yes, you can! There are many local restaurants with vegetarian or vegan menu options that may work for you during a Daniel fast. Try places such as Cava, Fresh Kitchen, Ciccio Cali, and many others.

Here are a few popular options:

Chipotle: veggie & rice bowl choose brown rice instead of white, and add the beans of your choice (they don’t use lard, thankfully — they’re vegan). You can also add the tofu sofritas and lots of veggies. Top it with salsa and/or their delicious guacamole. Tip: When you choose a veggie bowl, the guac is free! They don’t charge extra for it!

Panera Bread: Greek Salad with Quinoa, hold the feta. Or their black bean soup is vegan, a great Daniel Fast option, too.

Olive Garden: For starters, enjoy their endless salad without croutons and swap the Italian dressing for simple oil and vinegar. For your meal, order the whole wheat pasta with plain tomato sauce on top. You can ask for a few veggies in the sauce (like onions, zucchini, and mushrooms) and/or order a side of steamed broccoli (with no butter).

Subway: Subway offers chopped salads, made to order. Add lots of greens (spinach and iceberg lettuce, mainly) and top with veggies of your choice. Use olive oil and vinegar as your dressing.

Cracker Barrel: The Vegetable Plate (just request that your veggies be stir-fried without oil or butter). A healthy salad without cheese and croutons (but filled with fresh veggies) will always work and can be found at most restaurants!

Fast-food options

Wendy’s: Plain baked potato with chives (no sour cream) and a side salad, without packaged salad dressing.

Taco Bell: Order a corn tortilla filled with black beans, lettuce, and tomato. Their beans and refried beans are suitable, but not their white flour tortillas, so be sure to skip those.
